5th Annual Fool for All

Tales of Heroes and Gyros

Performed at Gallaudet University’s Elstad Auditorium
April 13th, 2014

A Play in a Day! Theatre made in a pressure cooker...

Tales of Heroes and Gyros will consist of four new plays created from scratch in a single day! After three years as a mainstay of the Capital Fringe Festival, the “Fool for All” moved to Gallaudet University in a daring challenge to create the entire show in only 10 hours! This annual tradition began in 2010, with the hit Tales of Love and Sausages, followed by Tales of Courage and PoultryTales of Marriage and Mozzarella – a production known for including a real live wedding – and last year's Tales of Honor and Anchovies! Critics have called the “Fool for All”, “witty and intelligent,” praised its “awesome feats of physical comedy,” and declared it “thoroughly enjoyable and light-hearted.” This DC favorite returns for a one-day only free performance on April 13th. Donations will be accepted to benefit Faction of Fools’ Sixth Season.

Actors skilled in Commedia dell’Arte will arrive at 9am to create four new plays packed with masks, acrobatics, physical comedy, honor, and anchovies. When the curtain goes up at 7pm, there is no fourth wall, no script, no set, and no boundaries! Like the leading Commedia companies of 16th century Italy, the actors have only their masks, their training, and the audience’s reactions. Live, immediate, and surprising, the 5th Annual “Fool for All” is a spectacle for the whole family!
