Faction of Fools is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment for diverse audiences. We are currently in residence at Gallaudet University, the premier university for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.

As part of its residency, Faction of Fools works with the faculty, staff, and students of Gallaudet University on a regular basis. We run workshops and lectures for both theatre majors and non-majors in Commedia dell'Arte and physical theatre, we share design teams and other elements for our productions and other events, and we cast Gallaudet students, alumni, and other DC-area Deaf actors in our shows. To date, over 20 Deaf actors have participated in our shows, including our Capital Fringe "Fool for All" productions and our mainstage productions at Gallaudet. And, for the first time since our residency began, we included 3 Gallaudet students working backstage for our production of A Commedia Christmas Carol.

In addition to providing ASL interpreted and Open-caption performances for our audiences, we continue to look for opportunities to improve our general accessibility for all patrons. If you are plan on attending a performance, and have specific needs, please email our Director of Access, Lindsey D. Snyder, no later than 2 weeks in advance, and we will accommodate you to the best of our ability.
